MAWMR 2020 is Canceled

MAWMR 2020 is officially canceled. With the rising cases of COVID and increased mandates, we find that it is simply not responsible to hold an event of this size. This is devastating to all of us with the many hours that volunteers, speakers, and sponsors have put for MAWMR. We honestly thought that by pushing the event to August that our country would be in a much different place, with COVID19 cases decreasing, not the exponential increases that we are seeing. With this uptick and the restrictions increasing for the state of Pennsylvania we felt that it is best to cancel and concentrate on making 2021 the best that we can. Safety for all was and is our number one priority.

While we are canceling our physical Rally we are working to create virtual experiences with our workshop speakers and fun group activities. Details on these events will be rolling out shortly.

Our community is stronger than canceling for a year. We appreciate all the words of support from those that have reached out to us. Our goal now is simple, to create a bigger and better 2021 Rally for all. In the meantime, we encourage you all to support each other and ride together while following safety protocols.

Speaking of riding…we are hopeful about joining together to do what we all love, riding motorcycles! Our goal is to organize a fundraiser ride for our charities. This way, we can still support the cause in a safe, socially distanced way and allow for some awesome MAWMR camaraderie. Stay tuned for the date and information!

Thank you for your support and understanding. Ride safe, be safe.

Cancellation FAQ

We know that many of you have been planning on attending MAWMR and holding out that it would be the one motorcycle event that would be able to continue in 2020. Unfortunately, we just cannot after conversations with many people on how to produce the event and keep everyone safe. Please, don’t be disappointed—we’ve held this event for 27 years and a small blip won’t keep us from having it again, quite the opposite we will be back in 2021, bigger and stronger.

What happens now? We will be 100% refunding all registration fees for the 2020 rally in a timely manner. Please bear with us and have some patience as there are hundreds registered and it is a multi-step process to complete. It may take up to 30 days to receive a refund from July 15, 2020. If you are currently registered, you will receive an email with instructions or keep reading below.

PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS VERY CAREFULLY

Can I roll over my registration?
No. As volunteers, this level of management is too much to maintain.

Can I donate my registration?
No. As volunteers, it is much simpler for us to refund all monies at once. If you would like to donate, we encourage you to reach out directly to Pink Out or H.O.P.E.

Pink Out: In 2019, they paid out over $170,000 in living expenses to women in need. In 2020, they were not able to hold their main fundraising event due to COVID-19. Along with other contributions such as the Rally, this event was the main source of funding.  To send a donation, please send it directly to: PINK OUT INC., 1150 Carlisle Street, STE 10 PMB 189, Hanover, PA 17331

H.O.P.E.: They served over 200 families last year both local and across the country with heartfelt assistance to cancer patients and their families. Since COVID-19, they have had to limit services to their food pantry and gift cards and cancel a major fundraising event which created a deficit of $100,000. To donate directly to H.O.P.E., please do so online at https://hopelifeline.org/donate-online/ or send checks to P.O. Box 279 Stewartstown, PA 17363

Please, will you make a 2020 shirt anyway?
Yes! We’ve already got a couple of ideas to make this happen. But most importantly, we’ll do it as a fundraiser for H.O.P.E. and Pink Out – all proceeds will go directly to each organization, split 50/50. If we can figure out how to make more merch for you, we will! Again, anything we create and sell in the remainder of 2020, all proceeds go to our charities.

What will happen to my hotel reservation?
If you booked directly with one of our hotels using the MAWMR room block, the hotel is canceling all reservations in the room block. If you booked your reservation outside the room block, through a 3rd party site, etc. it is your responsibility to cancel your own reservation. If you booked through a third-party, any potential refund would be handled by the third-party, not the hotel.

How do I continue to support MAWMR?
Be a Rally Ambassador! We’ll have postcards, posters and stickers for our 2021 dates shortly. Send us an email at info@mawmr.org with the subject line Ambassador and we’ll send you a purple package of stuff for you to hand out to friends, local businesses and organizations to spread the good word. YOU are an important part of making 2021 a massive success.

When is MAWMR 2021?
The Rally will be June 17-19, 2021 in York, Pennsylvania. We are already working on securing some of the cool activities we had planned for in 2020. Yes, there will be multiple hotels and yes, we will sell out at the host hotel. The event has just gotten too large to be at a single hotel. We will do our best to have transportation between the hotels at evening events, but can’t make promises.  The room blocks and registration will not open until January 4, 2021 (first Monday of the month).

Hi Cyndi, it’s disappointing as I was looking forward to attend one of MAWMR events, but understand the circumstances. It’s not easy what’s going on around us, but like you said we be back strong. Let me know if you ladies still doing Sturgis? I’m riding to Sturgis with my family and some friends.

It wasn’t easy to make the decision, but it was best for all. Hopefully, we will all be able to see each other in 2021!
